polished plaster
A Study in Light and Reflection
A refined Venetian-style lime plaster that brings rich tonal depth, natural mineral character, and a distinctive polished finish to architectural interiors.
Hand-troweled and carefully burnished, Muralis Polished Plaster creates luminous surfaces where subtle variations in color and reflection become part of the design.
THE ART OF POLISHED PLASTERA Surface Shaped
by Hand
The beauty of polished plaster lies in its ability to transform a wall through light, movement, and the precision of the artisan's hand.
Made with pure slaked lime putty, selected mineral fillers, and specialized modifiers, Muralis Polished Plaster draws on traditional Venetian plaster techniques to create richly layered, high-gloss surfaces.
Applied in successive thin coats and burnished with a stainless-steel trowel, the material develops a smooth, reflective finish with soft variations in tone.
As light moves across the surface, its depth and luminosity become more pronounced, giving architectural interiors a distinctive sense of refinement.
MATERIAL CHARACTERISTICSMore Than a Beautiful Surface

Surfaces must be smooth, dry, clean, and free of dust. Application requires the specified primer or base-coat system, followed by successive thin coats applied with a stainless-steel trowel and burnished to achieve the desired polished finish.
Application conditions should remain between +5°C and +35°C, with ambient relative humidity below 75% and substrate moisture below 10%.
ENVIRONMENTAL CREDENTIALSMuralis Polished Plaster uses a material covered by Eurofins Indoor Air Comfort Gold certification and French VOC Class A+ classification, with emissions testing conducted according to EN 16516.
Its low-emission credentials address criteria referenced by LEED, BREEAM, and WELL building standards, supporting material evaluation for projects with indoor air quality and environmental performance objectives.
BEYOND THE PALETTEA Finish Entirely Your Own
Every architectural space has its own relationship with color, material, and light.
Beyond our twelve standard shades, Muralis offers custom color development for polished plaster, allowing designers and architects to explore specific tones, levels of movement, and surface expressions.
Whether matching an existing material palette or creating a distinctive feature wall, our team works with you to develop a finish that complements the architecture and design intent of your space.
THE APPLICATIONEvery Layer.
Every Movement.
The distinctive beauty of polished plaster comes from a process that cannot be replicated by conventional wall paint.
Applied by hand using specialized troweling techniques, each layer is carefully worked to develop the desired depth, texture, and surface character.
The pressure of the trowel, the movement of the material, and the finishing technique all contribute to the final appearance.
At Muralis, the application is guided by the architectural setting and desired visual effect, resulting in surfaces that feel deliberate, refined, and individually crafted.
